if every person and business can understand finance and tune it to their advantage, we will resolve a very big problem in economics. our vision is to make that a reality.
i started MoneyTally back in 2017 out of personal frustration. sharing so many expenses with friends and family was so tough and frustrating. on top of that I started my career in IT it all came back haunting. how to manage my money. now you can categorize managing personal finance into tracking, saving, and financial jargon but in the end, there is only one end goal. making your money works for you. having no financial education it can be very hard to keep a check on your finances. this might include having no budgets to divide your income, having no idea how much to save/spend and how to track, and no education on investing and related fields. simply no idea and getting overwhelmed with financial jargon whenever you set out to learn anything. in other words, being financially illiterate. and no wonder i was also financially illiterate when i started out my career.
as i set out to learn about personal finance, it was so overwhelming for me at first that I thought of giving up, but later in my journey realized that it is better to take one step at a time and realized the benefits of managing my finances. i am not a domain expert but I have learned everything I know in finance by self-learning. i took various courses on corporate finances, personal finance, and investment. i am also an active investor in the Indian stock market. out of all personal finance interest me the most. because this is underrated yet so important for each and everyone on the planet.
and this thought got me talking to my colleagues, friends, and family and know whether also face the same problem I face. after talking to the initial set of users, i figured out that this is a real problem faced by people. and this is especially prominent in Gen Z and millennials but they want to take steps to learn it. and then I changed the name from MoneyTally to tallileo which in essence is made of two words. Tally + Galileo. smart tally of your finances. 😎🤏🏼
TLDR: personal finance is important for everyone and most of us are financially illiterate and this reflects in our financial behavior. I want to change that.
tallileo is aimed to bridge this gap. how do we do it? we educate users via our social media channels and blog and create trust with them on a personal level. because personal finance is personal to each individual. and then we pitch the product that can fulfill all their needs when it comes to personal finance. the product is divided into four major categories namely track, save, share, and invest and the final aim is that our customers should only need one platform when it comes to managing their money.
as the industry grows, there is a demand for personal finance needs like never before. it is also one of the problems that people have but they either do not realize it or do not take action due to a passive outlook.
